How to Visit Bali on a Budget: 4 Money Saving Tips

“When in Rome, do as the Romans do”, I follow this saying religiously when I am traveling. It essentially means do what the locals are doing if you are traveling on a budget like me. The touristy places are always expensive; anyone who has traveled a bit around the world knows this to be true.

How to Visit Bali on a Budget

On my recent trip to Bali, Indonesia, I did the same. Ate where the locals eat, went to the places locals mostly visited, did my shopping where the locals usually do. My friends who visited before me couldn’t believe how much money I saved using this tactic.

You can get this information from the locals who are more than happy to share their knowledge. To learn more about Bali, Indonesia tour and Activities.

Where to Stay?

Hotels are cheap in and around Southeast Asia and it's the same with Bali. You can always find a posh hotel to stay at Bali's tour and activities are very…for lack of a better word well known.

When it comes to hotels everyone is a bit fussy and the word cheap combined with hotel gives people a bad impression so let’s call it affordable.

The affordable hotels in my opinion in Bali, Indonesia can be compared with some of the best motels in the US. This is based on the price, cleanliness and the friendly environment atmosphere of it.  The price range varies on the area you staying, ranging from 10 to 30 dollars which is a proper hotel and most of them have complimentary breakfast included with the price.

Local Foods

When traveling you should be willing to try the local cuisine rather than going to a familiar place you know from back home.

It is a moot point that local food is very affordable but it is tasty as well. My favorite was Me Goreng which is essentially fried noodles and it’s a well-known dish from the Southeast Asia region.

Scooty’s are the cheap way to move about the Island. It is also a good way to know the island which will help if you are on a budget trip.  It’s cheap to hire it for the whole day and you would be able to get a lot of information about their local ways such as food and places to go.

Bali being an island that's the most happening place with many beachside bars and restaurants most importantly beaches are free to visit.
