2.What is the most rewarding part of being a Traveller

The most rewarding part of being a traveller is that as a family we are exposed to such varied places and cultures that only are we enriched by this experience but it also had made us introspect our priorities as well. I am glad my children get to travel so much at such young age.

3.Give me your top 3 favorite island destinations for a newly married couple.

1. Even though it sounds cliched I would say Maldives. We have been to this place with children and stayed in water villas.Honeymoon or no honey moon, Maldives is a very romantic place.

2. ScubaDiving in Lakshadweep – I was serving in Indian Navy and post our marriage my husband and I went scuba diving here. One of the most romantic moments was coming upafter scuba diving and to see the sun set in the sea.

3. Meghalaya in India in general is a very beautiful place if visited post rains! There is this village where people don't have names but only tunes for their names. Very intriguing and beautiful this place is. It is called Kongthong. You can read more about it here -https://lighttravelaction.com/meghalaya-travel-guide/

4.What are your personal top three travel destinations?

1. Meghalaya – We went on a hike with children to a Bamboo bridge in Wahkhen. There were hardly any tourists around and we felt like explorers in this very offbeat beautiful forest of Brooms. You can read more about it here - https://lighttravelaction.com/bamboo-bridge-trek-mawryngkhang-wahkhen-meghalaya/

2. Cycling from Manali to Leh – is by far one of the toughest things I have done. The terrain through out the ride is very alluring. You can read more about it here - https://lighttravelaction.com/cycling-manali-leh/

3. Varanasi – I had not expected this but Varanasi was a world all together different. Very Chaotic and yet very calm in its own way. You can read more about my experience here - https://lighttravelaction.com/best-places-visit-varanasi/ I even tried bhang Thandai at Varanasi which was a totally different experience.

5.What do you like most about being a Traveller?

My parents loved to travel with us and now I travel with my children. We are all bitten by the wanderlust bug and it feels nice to be exploring new places and culture together as a family.

6.If you only had one place you could visit for the rest of your life, where would it be?

LOL! Am I confined to a jail? I think it's only a mind block which can restrict anyone at one place. My 73 year old mother travels a lot. I have a friend bound in wheel chair who travels a lot with her family. I think once you break mental blocks you can be anywhere.

7.What are your favorite traveling destinations?

I guess I answered those in Q.4 above.

8.How do you fund your travel (savings/work whilst travelling/other)?

I travel Blog and I have decent readership which helps with brand collaboration. I work as a freelance writer as well.

9.Do you have any advice or tips for aspiring travellers?

“Don't listen to what they say. Go see.”

10.What inspired you to travel

With my sister and I on a two-wheeler (You can do that in India!!) or Sleeping in a Dharamshala or going on budget treks, my parents had perfected the art of traveling and adventuring on a shoestring budget. Every summer holiday we were heading to somewhere exciting!

Having inherited the travel streak from my parents I was lucky that my life partner shared my passion for travel. We have traveled as a family (with our children and our respective parents) and we have individually been on solo trips as well!
