BEST PLACES TO VISIT IN KARNATAKA

Hey guys, hope you are doing well.Since the pre winter season has already arrived I think everyone has already started planning trips for the holidays.So, with the upcoming holiday season here I am to suggest you an amazing and adventurous trip that will make you fall in love with traveling.

Many people these days especially the youngsters are often confused about where to go because you have limited options in winter. You cannot stretch the winter holidays for long like the summer holidays so a long trip is off the list. It takes quite a lot time to decide a place because it has to be budget friendly too.

One of the best places that I can for this holiday season suggest you people is Karnataka. It is a state in southwest India which beholds an enormous beauty with national parks, waterfalls, beaches, historic sites and an exotic night-life

So, pack your bag and set off to explore this beautiful and one of the most famous travel destination of our country.

Here are some places that you should definitely visit in Karnataka.

1.  Bengaluru


Also known as Bangalore. It is the capital of the state. It’s the ultimate destination for tech lovers and to experience a posh night life. The benevolent climate of Bangalore will make you want to visit the place a lot of times. It is one of the best destinations to go with your friends as it has got lovely restaurants, night clubs and a shopping hotspot. The city literally brims with fun and entertainment.

2. Mysore

It is mainly known for the historic sites and the rich royal culture. You must visit Mysore Palace to witness the jaw dropping architecture that is a blend of Hindu, Islamic, Gothic and Rajput style. If you are visiting with family add Mysore zoo and Brindavan Gardens to your list as kids are going to love it. There are also many temples with magnificent works and waterfalls too.

3. Madikeri

It is a hill town in Kodagu district and one of the most visited places in Karnataka. Few places to visit in Madikeri are Mandalpatti, Nagarhole National Park, Raja’s seat(perfect place to watch sunset from), Abbey Falls, Madikeri Fort and many more. It’s a perfect place to spend a peaceful vacation. The most famous things in Madikeri are the green valleys, aroma of coffee, cardamom plantation and black pepper farm.

4. Hampi

It is an ancient village that is situated within numerous old temples from the Vijayanagara Empire. This place is situated at a distance of 340 km from Bangalore and on the banks of Tungabhadra River.  The place is rich in heritage and is a renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hampi is a famous historical place not only in Karnataka but also across the country. Virupaksha Temple, Vittala Temple and Hampi Bazaar are the most visited places in Hampi.

5. Chikmagalur

It is another beautiful hill station which is perfect for adventurous travelers and hikers. The place is famous for mountains, greenery and calm environment. If you want to go for trekking this winter Chikmagalur should be your first preference.

Here are some places you can visit in Chikmagalur that will make your heart skip a bit with its pleasant beauty and multiple adventurous activities.

Kudremukh National Park, Mullayanagiri, Hebbe Falls, Baba Budangiri, Kallathigiri Falls, Manikyadhara Falls, Kadambi Falls, Belur, Z point, Hirekolale Lake, Coffee Museum and many more.

You can also go for trekking in Chikmagalur which will take 2-3 days at max if you choose the places you want to cover. Many exciting packages are available on many websites at much lower rates. So, try them out get the thrilling experience of living amidst nature.

6. Udupi

It is one of the famous tourist destinations for popular temples and beautiful beaches. A huge crowd of tourists and pilgrims gathers every year in the temple called Kanakanakhindhi for the celebration of the festival called Paryaya which takes place annually. Chandramoulishwar Temple, the Ananteshwar Temple and the Anegudde Vinayaka Temple are some of the famous temples of Udupi.
Among the beaches The Malpe beach is the most famous which has an island in the background (St. Mary’s island). 

If you want to visit less crowded beaches you can always go for Mattu, Kadike, Polipu and Kapu which are considered some of the most beautiful beaches of our nation. (615)

7. Bandipur National Park


A must visit for everyone and a favorite spot for every photographer. At a distance of only 80km from Mysore one of the top places of attraction is situated that is mostly included in the Ooty packages. October to May is the best time to visit this place. You can witness the migratory birds during the winter season and it’s pretty easy to spot the animals during the summer season. In short avoid the rainy season as there’s very less chances to spot animals during this time. There are many adventurous activities that you can do here like the elephant safari which lasts for 20 minutes to an hour and jeep safari. Elephant safari is the best way to spot tigers. You can also go for night trekking if you are experienced and have a thrilling trip.

8. Shivanasamudra Falls

It is one of the most famous waterfalls of Karnataka located in the district of Mandya. This is a one day trip from Bangalore so if you are free this weekend and already live in Karnataka you can easily pay a visit to this amazing place. This island divides Kaveri river into two parts which in turn formed waterfalls namely Gaganachukki and Barachukki. The view of these two waterfalls with numerous streams is completely breathtaking and mesmerizing. 

The other places in Karnataka that you must visit are Gokarna, Jog Falls, Sakleshpur, Dandeli, Murudeshwar, Pattadakal and many more.

Apart from places to visit you should also know a bit about the dishes that you must try while you visit Karnataka. Some of the famous dishes are: Uddina Vada(snacks), Dosa, Maddur Vada(snacks), Chowchow bath, Akki roti and Jolada roti, Gojju and Udupi Sambar, Ragi Mudde and Sappina Saru, Mysore Pak(dessert) and many more. 

Just remember that Karnataka is one of the best place for trekking, hiking, some water sports and other activities. So, next time you go make a perfect plan and if you have less time in your hand pick only a few places so that you can get the best from it.
